The Larissatini

The Larissatini, your classy and exotic beverage for the evening.

Last night we celebrated my birthday with a little cocktail party (which was much lovelier than my actual birthday last week). We had some friends and family over, and partied it up. My husband, who is a rock star in the bar tending department, kept the drinks flowing till the late night hours.

The Larissatini was the specialty and favorite of the evening, so I thought I'd share it with you all.
Because let's face it, everyone likes a good martini. The recipe calls for lychee, which is an Asian fruit that can be found in the ethnic foods aisle of most grocery stores.

Enjoy one (or three, like I did), and let me know what you think!

Larissatini
2 shots light rum
1/2 shot vermouth
1 shot lychee syrup

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well, strain into a martini glass, and garnish with a lychee.

Glad you had a good time! Your drink sounds fab ;) I love lychee martinis! I actually made a drink at the bar I was at on Friday night, and it managed to come out pretty good even tho it was missing 2 ingredients! :)

Waaah! I'll have to find a source for lychee syrup back home, because I sure won't find it here. Yes, a good martini (especially one named after you!) is always something to appreciate. Cin-cin!!

Oooh, I wonder how it would taste with vodka? I can't handle rum :(

Um, this is amazing. Not only do I want to drink one of these RIGHT NOW (it's 10:26 am though, too soon?), I also want my very own drink. Sigh.

Although the Bailey's 'n Milk was faaaaaabulous, the chance to wear my pair of faaaaaabulous heels was even more toast-worthy!

That sounds delicious!! There is a bar here in Columbus that has martinis for $2 during happy hour, and the selection is incredible. And oh by the way, did I mention they were $2? And so strong that two pretty much knock me out for the night? Yum!

As soon as I saw the picture, I knew it was a lychee. Very creative, and I'm sure it tastes great.

ohmygoodness, I love lychee. I also love bubble tea with lychee! Sigh. that takes me back to my college days because my friends and I would go to Chinatown and get bbt all the time. we had a mild obsession if you will.

oh by the way, love martinis. your recipe sounds fantastic. i was thinking about trying a new recipe for valentine's day and having some girlfriends over. it's called a flirtini and that alone means its GOT to be delicious! :)

The Larissatini is delish..I made a version of it with vodka and Lichido (lychee liquoeur)last night and not only did it kick my ass, it was probably the tastiest cocktail I've ever mixed. Cheers, all.
